What Is Inside Prostacyl Capsules?
The label gives amounts for a serving of two. This page works out what that means for one of the Prostacyl capsules, and says where the arithmetic stops.
Quick answer. Prostacyl capsules come 60 to a bottle, and the serving is two. Together the two hold nine actives with printed amounts, from saw palmetto at 300 mg to boron at 10 mg, plus a gelatin shell and brown rice flour. The label prints per-serving figures only, so a per-capsule split is our own arithmetic.

Sixty capsules, thirty days
A bottle lasts a month at two capsules a day. Three bottles last ninety days.

- Count: 60 Prostacyl capsules a bottle, 30 servings of two.
- Nine actives, each with its own printed amount. There is no proprietary blend.
- Per serving, the nine actives add up to 808.8 mg. That is our sum of the printed figures.
- Shell: gelatin. Filler: brown rice flour. These are the only two other ingredients.
- Capsule size, fill weight and colour: not published.
- Take both capsules together once a day with 6 to 8 oz of water.
How many Prostacyl capsules are in a bottle?
Sixty. The label prints a serving size of two capsules and 30 servings per container. Sixty divided by two is thirty, so one bottle covers 30 days at the label dose.
Bigger packs follow the same arithmetic. Three bottles hold 180 capsules for 90 days. Six bottles hold 360 capsules for 180 days. Each bottle is a sealed container with its own lot number and expiry date.
What do the nine actives add up to in the capsules?
The panel lists nine actives. Add the printed figures for one serving and you get 808.8 mg. That is plain addition: 25, 13.8, 300, 200, 100, 100, 50, 10 and 10.
The next table gives each figure per serving, and then our split per capsule. The split assumes the two capsules are filled the same. The label does not say that, so treat the second column as a rough guide only.
| Row on the panel | Per serving of 2 | Per capsule, if filled equally |
|---|---|---|
| Saw palmetto extract (fruit) | 300 mg | 150 mg |
| Pygeum africanum extract (bark), 3% phytosterols | 200 mg | 100 mg |
| Grape seed extract (seed) | 100 mg | 50 mg |
| Pumpkin seed extract (seed) | 100 mg | 50 mg |
| Nettle extract (leaf) | 50 mg | 25 mg |
| Vitamin E (dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate) | 25 mg | 12.5 mg |
| Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) | 13.8 mg | 6.9 mg |
| Boron (amino acid chelate) | 10 mg | 5 mg |
| Lycopene 5% (tomato) | 10 mg | 5 mg |
Per-serving figures are printed on the label. The per-capsule column is our arithmetic.
Two things are worth noticing. Saw palmetto and pygeum carry most of the weight. And the lycopene row is 10 mg of a preparation that is 5 per cent lycopene, so the actual carotenoid is near half a milligram. The ingredients page explains each row against the research.
What is the shell of Prostacyl capsules made of?
Gelatin. It is listed on the label as gelatin (capsule). Gelatin is animal-derived, so these capsules are not suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet.
The label does not name the animal source, and it does not give the shell weight. Both are not published. The site notes that gelatin is the usual material for a two-piece capsule, and that it dissolves quickly and has no taste.
What else is in Prostacyl capsules besides the actives?
One more line: brown rice flour. It is the filler. The site's reasoning is simple. The nine actives come to 808.8 mg per serving by our sum. Anything that does not fill the capsule needs bulk, and rice flour does that job.
We have added the label figures ourselves. If any sum you see elsewhere differs from the panel on the bottle in your hand, trust the bottle.
No colour, flavour, sweetener or preservative is listed. If it is not on the label line, we will not claim it is absent from the capsule; we can only say it is not listed.
How do you take Prostacyl capsules?
As the label says: two capsules once a day, with 6 to 8 oz of water, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Both go down at the same sitting. Do not take more than the label says unless a clinician tells you to.
The dosage post covers timing and what to do after a missed day. A bottle gives you exactly 30 daily servings, so a gap while a parcel ships splits one test into two short ones.
How can you check Prostacyl capsules against the label?
Turn the bottle over and run through four quick checks.
- Count the panel rows. There should be nine, each with a number.
- Read the two lead figures: saw palmetto 300 mg and pygeum 200 mg per serving.
- Read the other-ingredients line. It should say gelatin (capsule) and brown rice flour, and no more.
- Check the count and serving. It should say 60 capsules, 30 servings, two capsules a serving.
If the bottle in your hand disagrees with the label shown here, call the order desk with your order ID and the lot number. Keep the bottle and the box until the question is closed.

Frequently asked questions
How many Prostacyl capsules should I take a day?
Two, together, once a day with 6 to 8 oz of water. Do not take more than the label says unless a clinician directs it.
How much saw palmetto is in one Prostacyl capsule?
The label prints 300 mg per serving of two. If the capsules are filled equally, that is about 150 mg each. The label does not state a per-capsule figure.
Are Prostacyl capsules gluten free?
The only other ingredients listed are gelatin and brown rice flour. The site calls the rice flour inert and gluten-free. For a medical need, check with your doctor.
What size are Prostacyl capsules?
Not published. The label gives a count and a serving, but no capsule size or fill weight.
Can I take Prostacyl capsules on an empty stomach?
The label does not require food. It asks for 6 to 8 oz of water. If two capsules sit heavily, taking them at the end of a meal is a practical choice.
Do Prostacyl capsules contain animal products?
Yes, in the shell. It is gelatin, which is animal-derived, so the capsules are not suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Our view
The honest picture is a plain one. Two Prostacyl capsules hold nine printed amounts, a gelatin shell and rice flour. Nothing is hidden in a blend, and that makes the label easy to check.
What the label cannot tell you is how one capsule differs from the other, how large it is, or what it was filled with beyond the lines printed. Those facts are not published, and we would rather say so than fill the gap.
Read the panel, do the sum yourself, and ask your doctor about anything that touches your own medicines.
