Is Prostacyl Vitamin E at 25 mg Something to Worry About?
If you have read anything about vitamin E and the prostate, you may feel uneasy about Prostacyl vitamin E. Here are the numbers, side by side with the label.
Quick answer. Prostacyl vitamin e is 25 mg of dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate per two-capsule serving, which is 167% of the Daily Value. A large trial that raised concern used a dose about sixteen times higher. Interactions with blood thinners are described from around 300 mg a day. The site does not present vitamin E as prostate support.

- Vitamin E (as dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate): 25 mg per serving, 167% of the Daily Value.
- It is the synthetic acetate form, at an amount a good multivitamin would recognise.
- The trial that raised concern used 400 IU a day, about sixteen times the amount here, according to the site.
- Interactions with blood thinners are described from around 300 mg a day. 25 mg is roughly a twelfth of that.
- The site does not claim vitamin E helps the prostate.
- Tell your prescriber if you take an anticoagulant or antiplatelet.
What is the Prostacyl vitamin E row?
It is the first line on the panel: Vitamin E (as dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate), 25 mg per serving of two capsules. The percent Daily Value is 167%.
That percentage looks large because the Daily Value for vitamin E is small. The site describes the amount as one a good multivitamin would recognise. The form is the synthetic acetate, which is a common way to put vitamin E in a capsule.
Vitamin E sits in the group the site calls the supporting cast. It carries no claim on the label for the prostate or for anything else.
Why do people worry about Prostacyl vitamin E and the prostate?
Because of one trial. SELECT gave 35,533 men 400 IU a day of this same compound. It counted a statistically significant increase in prostate cancer risk. That finding is real, and the site states it without softening.
The site then does the arithmetic. The trial dose is about sixteen times the amount in Prostacyl. So the result does not imply harm at 25 mg. What it does do is remove any reason to present vitamin E as prostate support, and the site does not.

| Label amount against that threshold | Roughly a twelfth |

Does Prostacyl vitamin E affect blood thinners?
The interaction literature on vitamin E begins at much higher intakes than this. The toxicity chapter the site cites puts the start near 300 mg a day. At 25 mg, the label is about a twelfth of that.
Even so, the site asks anyone on an anticoagulant or antiplatelet to tell their prescriber. It describes the bleeding cautions for saw palmetto and vitamin E on this panel as theoretical at the printed amounts, rather than documented. A systematic review of warfarin and supplements is the reason to mention it anyway.
If you take a blood thinner, the sensible order is simple. Ask first, then decide. Our post on side effects and other medicines goes through the same cautions for the whole capsule.
What about Prostacyl vitamin E and stroke findings?
A meta-analysis of stroke subtypes found a small rise in haemorrhagic stroke and a small fall in ischaemic stroke. This was across supplementation trials of vitamin E.
The doses in those trials were far above 25 mg. The site treats the finding as context, not as an alarm, and we agree. It is a reason to know your own history and to mention supplements to your doctor, not a reason to panic over one row.
Should you add up Prostacyl vitamin E with other products?
Yes, it is a good habit with any supplement. Some multivitamins may also carry vitamin E. If you take one alongside Prostacyl, the two amounts add together.
The label gives no upper limit for vitamin E, so we will not state one. Check the other product's label, add the milligrams, and show the total to your doctor or pharmacist. The same goes for boron and vitamin B6 elsewhere on the panel.
Who should ask a doctor before using Prostacyl vitamin E?
- Anyone taking a blood thinner or an antiplatelet medicine.
- Anyone with a personal or family history that worries them about prostate health.
- Anyone already taking a multivitamin or a separate vitamin E product.
- Anyone pregnant or nursing, or under 18. The label excludes both.
This is not a diagnosis tool and we are not clinicians. The reviewer of this page is a physician, but your own doctor knows your own history.

Frequently asked questions
How much vitamin E is in Prostacyl?
25 mg per serving of two capsules, as dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate. That is 167% of the Daily Value.
Is the vitamin E in Prostacyl safe?
The site rates 25 mg as far below the amounts in the trials that raised concern. It is not a safety guarantee. Ask your doctor if you take a blood thinner.
Does Prostacyl vitamin E help the prostate?
The site does not claim that. It says the research gives nobody grounds to present vitamin E as prostate support.
Can I take Prostacyl with a multivitamin that has vitamin E?
The amounts add together. Check the other label, add the milligrams, and show the total to your pharmacist or doctor.
Is vitamin E in Prostacyl natural or synthetic?
The label says dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate, which the site describes as the synthetic acetate form.
Does Prostacyl vitamin E interact with warfarin?
The interactions described start around 300 mg a day, far above 25 mg. Even so, tell your prescriber before you start.
Our view
Prostacyl vitamin E is a small number with a large shadow. The shadow comes from a trial that used about sixteen times as much, and the site is open about it. That openness is the useful part.
On the figures, 25 mg is far below both the trial dose and the level where blood thinner interactions are described. It is still your call, and your doctor's, if you take anything that affects bleeding.
Not published: a safety study of the finished capsule, and any upper limit stated on the label for vitamin E. Medical questions belong with your doctor.
